Benjamin is a Painter based in Montreal, Canada. Living in many countries and being a practicing Architect have been two major influences in the development of his artistic practice. He completed an MFA degree at the Glasgow School of Art in 2012.
Artist statement:
Through painting, I create images composed of strong colourful geometric shapes and patterns which reframe the subject. Photographic source material is used as a starting point. The deconstruction and recreation of the image transform the qualities of the subject. Something unpleasant may become joyful, the serene rendered chaotic, the dramatic revived as comedy.
